【摘要】:Theresultsofthedeformationandcohesiontestscanbeusedforspecificationpurposesorformixdesignpurposes,orboth.Forexample,thesevaluescanbeusedforspecificationcompliancetestingofaggregateproperties.Theycanalsobeusedforspecificationcompliancetestingofthemix.Thecohesiontestissometimesusedforfinemixessuchassandmixeswhereincohesion,ortensilestrength,isofmajororprimaryimportance.Thecohesiontestisalsosometimesusedforthedesignofcoldmixescontainingemulsifiedasphalt.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationof(1)theresistancetodeformationofcompactedbituminousmixturesbymeasuringthelateralpressuredevelopedwhenapplyingaverticalloadbymeansoftheHveemstabilometerand(2)thecohesionofcompactedbituminousmixturesbymeasuringtheforcerequiredtobreakorbendthesampleasacantileverbeambymeansoftheHveemcohesiometer.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
