【摘要】:Cyanideandhydrogencyanidearehighlytoxic.Regulationshavebeenestablishedtorequirethemonitoringofcyanideinindustrialanddomesticwastesandsurfacewaters.4Thistestmethodisapplicablefornaturalwater,salinewaters,andwastewatereffluent.Themethodmaybeusedforprocesscontrolinwastewatertreatmentfacilities.ThespottestoutlinedinTestMethodsD2036,AnnexA1canbeusedtodetectcyanideandthiocyanateinwaterorwastewater,andtoapproximateitsconcentration.1.1Thismethodisusedtodeterminetheconcentrationofavailableinorganiccyanideinanaqueouswastewateroreffluent.Themethoddetectsthecyanidesthatarefree(HCNandCN-)andmetal-cyanidecomplexesthatareeasilydissociatedintofreecyanideions.Themethoddoesnotdetectthelesstoxicstrongmetal-cyanidecomplexes,cyanidesthatarenot"amenabletochlorination."1.2TotalcyanidecanbedeterminedforsamplesthathavebeendistilledasdescribedinTestMethodsD2036,TestMethodA,TotalCyanidesafterDistillation.Thecyanidecomplexesaredissociatedandabsorbedintothesodiumhydroxidecapturesolution,whichcanbeanalyzedwiththistestmethod;therefore,ligandexchangereagentsfromsections8.12and8.13wouldnotberequiredwhendeterminingtotalcyanideafterdistillation.1.3Thisprocedureisapplicableoverarangeofapproximately2to400956;g/L(partsperbillion)availablecyanide.Higherconcentrationscanbeanalyzedbydilutionorlowerinjectionvolume.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardstatementsaregiveninNote2andSection9.
