【摘要】:1Thispracticecoversdosimetricprocedurestobefollowedinfacilitycharacterization,processqualification,androutineprocessingusingelectronbeamradiationtoensurethattheentireproducthasbeentreatedwithanacceptablerangeofabsorbeddoses.Otherproceduresrelatedtofacilitycharacterization(includingequipmentdocumen-tation),processqualification,androutineproductprocessingthatmayinfluenceandmaybeusedtomonitorabsorbeddoseintheproductarealsodiscussed.Note1—Forguidanceintheselectionandcalibrationofdosimeters,seeGuideE1261.Forfurtherguidanceintheselection,calibration,anduseofspecificdosimeters,andinterpretationofabsorbeddoseintheproductfromdosimetry,alsoseePracticesE668,E1275,E1276,E1431.E1607,E1631,andE16S0.Forusewithelectronenergiesabove5MeV,seePracticesE1026,E1205,E1401,E1538,andE1540fordiscussionsofspecificlargevolumedosimeters.Fordiscussionofradiationdosimetryforpulsedradiation,seeICRUReport34.Whenconsideringadosimetertype,becautiousofinfluencesfromdoseratesandacceleratorpulseratesandwidths(ifapplicable).2Theelectronenergyrangecoveredinthispracticeisbetween300keVand25MeV,althoughtherearesomediscussionsforotherenergies.Note2—ForapplicationofdosimetryinthecharacterizationandoperationofelectronbeamandX-ray(bremsstrahlung)irradiationfacilitiesforfoodprocessing,seePracticeE1431.ForapplicationofdosimetryinthecharacterizationandoperationofirradiationfacilitiesusingX-rayradiation(bremsstrahlung),seePracticeE1608.3Dosimetryisonecomponentofatotalqualityassur-anceprogramforadherencetogoodmanufacturingprac-tices.Specificapplicationsofelectronbeamradiationpro-cessingmayrequireadditionalcontrols.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappro-priatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplica-bilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
