【摘要】:Thistestmeasuresthetracelevelamountofsedimentthatisnaphtha-insolubleandcanbeseparatedbycentrifuging.Excessiveamountsofsedimentinoilcouldleadtosystemmalfunctionincriticalapplications.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftraceamounts(lessthan0.05volume%)ofsedimentinlubricatingoils.Sinceoil-solublematerialprecipitatedbythespecifiedsolventisnotintendedaspartofthemeasuredsediment,thetestmethodisnotapplicableincaseswhereprecipitatedoil-solublecomponentswillappreciablycontributetothesedimentreadings.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
